Das historische Gasthaus wurde durch einen Großbrand in der Altstadt 1787 zerstört und danach wieder aufgebaut.
Im Eckbalken des Obergeschosses findet sich das eingravierte Baujahr 1788 und ein goldfarbener Bock im Hexagramm als Zeichen des Brauereirechts und Bierausschanks.

The historic inn was destroyed by a great fire in the historic city center in 1787 and rebuilt afterwards.
In the corner beam of the upper floor there is engraved the year 1788. In addition, you can see a gold-colored buck within an hexagram, symbol of the right to brew beer and to sell it to the public.
Between 1835 and 1843, this building housed the first coaching inn.
In 1840, the French poet Victor Hugo (1802-1855) stays here.
Between 1868 and 1928 the house was used as a Higher Civil and Commercial School. Since then it has been in private ownership.
Cette auberge historique à été détruite en 1787 par un grand incendie au centre historique de la ville et à été reconstruite par la suite.
Le poteau cornier du premier étage porte l’inscription „1788“ et, au milieu d‘un hexagone, se trouve un bouc doré. C'était le symbole du droit de brasser de la bière et de la vendre au public.
Entre 1835 et 1843, le premier relais de poste était installé dans ce bâtiment.
